Author Anecdote: A Journey of Discovery, By Alexa

Hi, my name is Alexa, and I am now 16 years old. At the time of writing this book, I was 10 years old, just starting P6 at a school in Glasgow. Oh, and did I mention? I have an awesome little sister who is now 10 too!

This incredible story came about when I embarked on a journey to understand and unravel my own feelings and emotions. It may seem simple at first glance, but trust me—feelings can sometimes be complex, confusing, and tricky to grasp or explain. Even adults find it challenging!

One day, my wise Grandma Margaret Silf suggested that we sit down together to write down what exactly it was that I was feeling—to see if we could make sense of it all. And you know what got me thinking? My grandma happens to be an amazing writer herself! So why not turn this into a book?

The journey began with putting pen to paper—a way for me to explore my emotions in a different light. It helped me gain insights into what lay within me while providing the space for self-discovery. Encouraged by Mum, Dad, and Grandma Margaret themselves—who supported me every step of the way—I started opening up about these feelings more freely than ever before.
